Recognizing the quality of financial advice may not always be clear, but there are key signs to watch out for –

  • Ensure recommendations are documented in writing and thoroughly discussed.
  • Verify that your advisor is independent to receive unbiased advice.
  • Ask about your advisor’s compensation structure.
  • Investigate their experience, credentials, and industry longevity.
  • Ensure the conversation is two-way, with your concerns being heard.
  • Be comfortable with the explanation of associated risks.

Q2: What are your charges for financial planning services?

Our fee structure is as follows –

  • The initial consultation is free.
  • Subsequently, we charge an hourly rate plus VAT for creating and presenting your financial plan.
  • If you choose to implement the plan with us, we apply an ongoing advice fee as a percentage of your assets under our guidance.

Q3: What if I decide I no longer want to work with you?

There is no obligation to stay. We understand that circumstances may change. If you decide to discontinue our services, please get in touch with us and share your reasons, if comfortable. Your feedback helps us continually improve our service.

Q4: Which companies do you collaborate with?

We are independent advisors and work with companies that best suit your needs. Our current preferred providers include Allan Gray, Glacier by Sanlam, Ninety One, Momentum (Investments & Life), Nedgroup Collective Investments, Old Mutual Wealth, Old Mutual International, Satrix and Legacy Fiduciary Services.

While we don’t specialize in medical aids or short-term insurance, we can refer you to trusted partners who have helped many of our clients in these areas.

Q9: Can you assist me when I emigrate?

Emigration is a process that should start years before you get on the plane. We will help to structure your investments optimally so that you pay minimal tax and transaction fees when you leave. We will also walk you through the process of breaking tax residency with a preferred accounting firm so that the process is seamless and a little less stressful.
